RE: Beginners Challenge Fall 2010 (in reply to veet)
hey kozz, that ligado section, im pretty sure he plays 0-1-0 instead of 1-2-1.
the ravenna tabs are close but there are small mistakes like that. i dont know if i'll be able to get to making a new version this week. maybe stu can help out?
ok, i fixed a couple of things. but it's still not perfect. it looks like the competitors will have freedom with the strumming, etc. anyways.

i believe last time, everyone had to play with the same capo position. shall we do capo 2 as a rule?
and please re-read the first post so that everyone understands what falseta we're playing. you play any version of the falseta, way of compas strumming is up to you, then close with the alzapua section from the ravenna version.

lol. somebody signed you up. apparently without your permission. i'll just leave you in there and if you can do it, you can do it. if not, that's ok too.
Yep that was me Come on man join this thing....sell the flute, sell the piano, buy a decent guitar and join!

Thanks!
Looking at the different tabs I've noticed something bit confusing with the G7 chord bit in bar 19 of updated Ravenna tabs and bar 23 of original Ravenna tabs. The album version and Encuentro version have b flat making it G min7, but the Ravenna tabs including your updated version finger it as b natural making it G7.
Hope I've made this clear...
So I'm not sure whether it should be a form of G major or minor at that point?
Like to know which before my fingers start remembering the wrong chord!

With all the available tabs and diffferent recordings I think Ive become confused with the aim of the BEGINNERS challenge. Do we keep it simple and clean or try and reproduce as close as we can the actual Moraito's Rompeserones Falseta in question?

ORIGINAL: at_leo_87 check out the recording. it's definitely not a minor. G7 IS used in A phrygian.
Thanks for the correction Antony...yes I can hear that the Ravenna fellow plays G7...my only point is on the album tabs and also the Encuentro tabs they use a b flat... G min 7 is used.
So I suppose we can play it anyway we feel...both sound good

Plan: Contestants will have until November 1 to learn and record any version of the falseta from below plus the alzapua ending from the Ravenna Version.
So focus on the alzapua's guys!
And if you already didn't know, kozze is gonna win this Challenge, so there is still time to backout now!
Oh, what about a new rule like: You can withdraw upuntill one week before the challenge ends! All other should upload no matter how good it is. I hate to see people withdrawing one day before it ends. It should allready be finished by then don't you think. Well I withdrawed myself to many times anyway
Time to get a jazzy sound out my gitar for the first part....I'll bet she will be angry with me in the first few hours, but then I give her a good thumb again.

yes, i agree with kozz, just upload it! dont be shy! you've got nothing to lose but so much experience and feedback to gain.
some good news, graham has kindly volunteered to be the chosen one who will collect all the entries and will upload them to the foro. thank you graham!
there's some confusion about what to actually play since there's so many variations. i'll make this clear as bell later on when i have more time.

Ok, There are three basic sections. We'll call them A, B, C.
-You can play some compas or tapado as an intro or just use the intro in section A. -Play Section A from any of the given tabs. -Section B is just basic compas. Play your own or use one from the given tabs. The length is up to you. In the Ravenna tabs, Section B goes until Section C. In the album and encuentro tabs, it goes until the next falseta. -End with Section C which is only in the Ravenna Version.
First the Ravenna tabs.
