DUENDE

Hi, there!

When I am not playing, I make sculptures.
I just finished a sculpture, called : DUENDE
It is a couple dancing flamenco.

I tried to capture duende in marbel.

of course, i would be glad with your comment, and especially, if you would take the time, and see, if i succeeded to capture the duende...

(sorry, the foto is not perfect)

Kind regards, Peter.

Hi Peter,
I think it's fantastic that someone can make things with their own hands, be it making guitars or in your case, working in marbel, jeez! that's incredible.
The sculpture looks about 450 - 475mm high? I don't know how you could get that finish on a material like marbel, but it's there.
I'd have to see the piece in real life to comment on anything 3D but it looks like you're a very talented guy.
Does the hammering not knock the hell out of your hands tho' for guitar playing?
Cheers
Jim.

Hi Jim.
thanks for your reply!
The finishing is done by sandpaper, and finished with marbel polish for stairways ( is that proper english?) or doorsteps.
the hight is about 100 mm shorter. At first i use the hammer a lot, and it is hard to play than on the same day, but after the hammering, i use the 'rasp' that is a little easyer.

If you are interested in some more sculptures i make, see:

greetings, Peter

I love sculpture - and carving and good architecture, all 3D media; 2D stuff leaves me a bit flat:-). Peter, I like this piece and also "Samen tegenwind". Do you sell your stuff? Are either of these pieces available? How much would they cost?

Hi Michael.

Thanks for your compliment!
Normally, i sell some sculptures on expositions. 'Samen Tegenwind" is already sold this spring.
Mostly the prices are between 1000 euro and 1500 euro on an exposition, but when I sometimes sell privately, it is 30% less ( that is mostly the percentage the gallery gets).
Duende was this summer in a gallery for 1325 euro, so privately it would cost 925 euro.
greetings, Peter.

Very nice Peter. My degree is in fine art and I specialized in sculpture so I can really appreciate what you do. Very beautiful piece.
