ASH DEATH CLOUD HORROR STORIES

This is playing merry hell with my digestion.
With 4 artists flying in from Madrid and Seville on thursday, for shows on saturday and all the following week, it's been a nightmare.
And even if some or all of them could get here, there's no guarantee that the vindictive Fire God in Mt Eyjafjallajokull won't become enraged again and trap them here indefinitely.
It's like playing chess with the devil.

The Icelandic PM on Newsnight was like having a visit from The Boys.

"Now about our little arrangement over the banks. You have a very nice civil flight industry. Shame if it were to get all clogged up and grounded. Clogged up with - oo I dunno - some kind of ASH. Maybe even VOLCANIC ash, blown thousands of feet into the air by some huge natural force.
Now can you think of anywhere that might cause that kind of trouble?...
If you can, let us know and we'll do our best to see that any problems go away.

You guys have got it all wrong. The Guardian newspaper published this yesterday about how problems with the entire earth are being caused:

A senior Iranian cleric says women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously are to blame for earthquakes.

Iran is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, and the cleric's unusual explanation for why the earth shakes follows a prediction by the president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that a quake is certain to hit Tehran and that many of its 12 million inhabitants should relocate.

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media.

At last someone has realised how important and powerful women are in the world.

I love it. Two great German amigos y aficionados arrived in Cádiz with people from various lands for a meeting about education. Now they are "trapped" in one of their favourite places. So I have the chance to have tapas with them, invite them to eat in my house, take them to jazz, classical music and flamenco (Angel Pastor).

Well...in less than 24 hours the peril of the evil Death Cloud has been thwarted and the skies once again rendered safe, due to concerted Government action....a task normally only achievable by "The Doctor".

(or by sacrificing a Banker or two)

I loved the way that no Government minister would use the words "I think it is safe", but rather said "we have considered advice from safety authorities throughout the world"....

So that in the event of a aircraft incident occurring (God forbid), everyone can start pointing their fingers in all directions saying, "It wasn't me...HE told me it would be OK."

The wonderful world of Politics.

While we're blaming people, where was His Holiness during the current Armageddon?
Preparing?
You'd have thought that this would have been a golden opportunity to show a bit of something. To show what religion and all that is meant to be good at.
Maybe he was pre-occupied or something.
