My new Budgies

My new Budgies

As a gift for persian new year, i got these 2 nice Budgies.

One of them (The Husband) is a good Cantaor.

Whenever i start to play Guitar, he starts to sing something in his Language.

When i quit playing, he also does.

We both have to work on Compas though.

The Lady is quite. She doesn't sing or say anything.

I think she prefers to dance.

Here are 2 pics.

Anyone else got Budgies? They are really cute and very intelligent (imo)

Cute...I see they've even got their own little satellite dish....

Do they have a little LCD TV to go with it?

(The Bird Channel.. )

cheers,

Ron

I would move the plants away from the cage so they can't eat any of it. You never know what may be poison to them.

Hi Arash,

Congratulations on your budgies.

Take care mate.

RE: My new Budgies (in reply to Arash

thanks Doit

lol Ron, you're so right, that white thing really looks like a Satellite dish

Patrick, thanks, i just did what you said. You are right. I have a book here about Budgies which i am reading right now, and there is also mentioned that one should be careful with "unknown" plants etc. and that they shouldn't eat them.

Argaith, thanks man.

I have the Budgies since a week now and each day, seams like they trust me more. First day, they were very nervous and flying away as soon as i was even just near the cage.

Today i even opened the cage, put my hand in there and they didn't move a milimeter from their place. Seams like they realized there is no dangerous thing here.

Nice budgies, thanks for the pictures. Nouruz mobarak!

I'm looking forward to a photo of you playing guitar with the budgie cantaor sitting on your head.

merci !

As for Photo, i will do my best to build enough trust to get the Cantaor sitting on my head.
I just hope that he doesn't do a dump on my head (budgies sh!t every 10 - 15 minutes, just for info)

Clever parrot, but exposing the poor sod to Iranian pop music should be classed as animal cruelty in my opinion

Well Iranian folk music can sound a lot like flamenco to my ears!

Happy New Year btw. Just had a couple of Persian festivals in my neigbourhood. The last one was just last weekend, I think that was related to the New Year. There was also a festival a couple of weeks ago also regarding the New Year. Persians do like to party.

Lots of Iranians where I live.

Are you Arab? No, I am Persian! Like a pussycat. Meowww.

cool budgies! that's a really nice gift i bet they're nice to wake up to. we call them parakeets, over here.

you can train them to climb onto your finger when you place it in front of them. they do bite so be careful.

RE: My new Budgies (in reply to Arash

update:

after hours of patience and lot of cramp in my hand which i kept still so that they don't get feared,,,,, they now come and sit on my hand and eat millet spike (is it correct in english?, its some special bird seed from Australia i think).

and they BITE in to fingers. i think they assume that the fingers are competitors for the bird seed. that really hurts but i take it.

but if i have nothing to offer and just want them to come and sit on my hand, they are like: f.ck off you ugly human , they go somewhere else and start to sing for eachother and totally ignore me.

and yes, they are nice to wake up

they have also some funny behaviour.

for instance: when it gets dark, they always fight for the best and highest place to sleep. even though there are similar places (all same level), if one of them has found a place, the other one doesn't accept that and wants exactly THAT place , then they climb over each other and squeeze in to that place. this goes on sometimes half an hour until one of the is tired and gives up. then they sleep together and of them hides his head under the other one.

@cathulu, thanks, meow
