Really sad to hear that Sean. An amazing singer !

Hang on I just went to read his biography on one of the flamenco websites and it says he died in 1981, was there another Terremoto de Jerez ? Am I being thick here ?

OK got it now, it was his son ! And only 40 years old !

Saw him perform with Israel Galvan and Alfredo Lagos in Stockholm a few years ago. He was superb. Very sad to hear this.

All they say is it was a heart attack, at the end of a prolonged illness. I'd ordered tickets to his show at the upcoming Festival de Jerez, and was told weeks ago it was cancelled due to his illness. Damn shame. I'm just glad I got to hear him sing a couple of times while he lived. Huge beautiful tenor voice, very much like his father's.

Sad. His poor family. I was told he had a brain tumor and that was the main illness. Flamenco lost a member of one of the great families.

You can see he had surgery done in this video.

Here's a beautiful clip of his daughter singing to him. Very sad.

Absolutely tragic, another pillar of the jerez tradition passes away.

And like his dad he was powerful and good por solea por buleria and siguiriya.

There's a old B&W video on you tube of Terremoto the papa singing for Farruco that is mildly mind blowing. I'll look for it later.
