I remember you from the conde hermanos discussion, you have a photo of chicuelo and you listen to juan martin and armik? man that's heavy.

Since you are relatively new posting you should be on your guard for sarcastic humor from some of the long time members here.
Oh, and that:

hope you're guitars are better than your taste in guitarists .

Better have been a joke.

I dont have a list, hard to make it with one person only,

Paco de Lucia. I will have a list the day someone even close

to him comes up. I was joking with Anders, of course thats flamenco.

I made that joke because thats at least flamenco he mentioned.

Hey buleria man,

I can put you in touch with another guy who feels the same!

(I believe he also does an excellent line in Flamenco guitars!)

PM me and I'll give you the details.

cheers,

You should get the DVD series "Rito y Geografia del Cante Flamenco" to see these guys in action with various singers. And search youtube of course!

Cepero-such a long list of great singers. La Perla de Cadiz. Festival Flamenco Gitano 1 really shows off Cepero accompanying some great singers like Maria Vargas and Camaron, some dance accomp, and he even sings some decent rumbas. As a bonus you get 2 guitar solos from Paco de Lucia live in 1969, one of my favorite flamenco discs.
Morao-the whole jerez line of singers. Seems very inspired with Terremoto.... and the son moraito with Terremoto jr. Moraito and son diego with Zambo, los moneos, de la Morena, etc etc. Now Jesus Mendez I like a lot for a young singer in jerez style.
Parrilla- La Paquera of course!!
Tomatito-live with camaron of course!! But things like his accomp of Zambo and Fernando de la morena on Paseo de los Castaños show his versitily to play for other styles of singers. He gets a good jerez aire going there in a bodega in Sanlucar.
Chicuelo-mainly his work with Poveda. Live video of his concerts with Duquende and Poveda are quite inspiring.

Ricardo

I thought it was just me. I've had the new album in the car for the last month now and I've come to the conclusion that its great music but it isn't flamenco.

My Top 4 would be

Diego Morao
Pedro Sierra
Gerardo Nuñez
Flo

I dont have problems with Armik as he doesn't count in the professionals
guitarists list. His music is normally played in lavatories in fancy hotels and
restaurants so that tells me and others alot.

depens on what you regards as success, the song macarena became the
no1 ever most sold Spanish hit in the history, and made much much more
money than a shmuck like Armik etc.

Armik became famous so did Bozo the clown. musically he is on level 2
of 100. Juan martin is an instructor of basic flamenco thats it.
Strunz and farah, good music for those not having a deep understanding
of music. if you believe that most people here are wrong about their choice
thats your problem not theirs.

these guys were complitely unknown for me, exept JM, before joining foro and now Im checking them out. Thanks for introducing them Arash , but I almost lost my mind listening rosas de amor from Armik. Five minutes of madness!
I did thirty second of Eric Hansen and I think I like him more than Jesse Cook or Otmar. His beats are slightly better. Time to time I almost felt not vomiting. Strunz and Farah were praised some where in the net also, but after Armik Im afraid to try them. It might leave me out cold wondering with an empty look and rose in my teeth.

well...heres my list
1.Moraito
2.Paco de Lucia
3.Paco Fernandez
4.Jose Manuel Leon

buleria74 and aleksi, i think you and everyone else in this thread have no idea what real flamenco is.

flamenco was invented in an elevator in US, and not in spain.

ok buleria74, before this gets out of hand, i was just pulling your leg.
i thought it was abvious that my first list was a joke.
even a new member must see that this list must be a joke

Its that subtle Persian humour of yours. You should have said

Segovia
Slash
Jose Feliciano
The flamenco guy who used to play with Brian Adams

thanks buleria74. I suppose most of the guys here agree with the vomiting effect of this kind of music. There have been tons of discussions about them. You'll find them if you search abit.
But where are these artist famous? Its hard to imagine main stream fin buying a record or going to a gig of one of the guitar heroes. Are they even succesful? Who buys their records?
Oh no, Im starting to go deeper and I dont want that. Gotta go now, before hijacking the tread.

Yes of course it´s Paco. He´s playing with Brian Adams in the 90´s for the soundtrack of Juan de Marco.
I hated this song a long as I can remember (like most any other songs of Brian Adams).

Man, at this point an explaination was not even deserved, should have kept going with it. And I still think the "joke" to anders was not even funny.

Arash and anyone else. Please don't provoke the extra-terrestrials.

GUys, the word is SARCASM. The intenet includes dictionaries. Look it up!

On another note.

Segovia

Dude, don't be knocking Feliciano. For a blind guy with no clue as to Flamenco, the guy can play.

Yes, Paco de Lucha can only dream about an outfit like this. The English spelling of this guy's name is DiDuLa. He is simply the best.
