pumping nylon for flamenco!

I have been looking for help with my left hand, and I have rediscovered this book. It has some wonderful left hand exercises, including the famous ¨crab¨exercises.

The exercises for speed bursts for scale velocity are wonderful as well.

This book is a ¨must have¨for anyone serious about their technique.

Yes, Pumping Nylon by Scott Tennant.

Its a collection of exercises for classical guitarists to develop their technique and its pretty much a 'must have' book in the CG world. As Michael says, a lot of the principles are just as applicable to flamenco guitarists.

The section on 'speed bursts' are worth the price of the book alone if you are one of those people that tries to tackle things like tremolo and rapid picado by starting really slow and then notching up the metronome one beat at a time.

Jon

BTW, Scott was taught by the Romeros, who have strong links with flamenco. One of Pepe Romero's early albums was a flamenco album.

The video is also very well done. In fact I understand it's better for the nail section. I don't have the book, so am not positive.

The intermediate to advanced book also has a beautiful Solea in it.
