Speaking from personal experience, and having asked numerous question about FP, although mine only has the soundboard FPed:

Resting your arm on it wont ruin it. Probably. Unless you're terribly unclean, or have corrosive body chemistry.

The man who built my guitar doesn't think it's a big deal, but my teacher instructed me to get a high grade chamois to wipe it down after use. I do that.

FP is a little more impressionable than lacquer, so obviously you avoid wearing things with buttons.

However, as long as you don't bread a hole in the wood, FP is easier to repair than lacquer. If you get a dent, they can just fill the ding with lacquer to bring it up to level and then polish over it (at least that's what I was told). FP is a lot easier to redo than lacquer.

That cover is pretty dumb. Unless it's just, you know, pijamas for when you put it to bed, it defeats the purpose of having FP. If someone is really that worried about it, they need a practice guitar.

i'd like to point out that it keeps guitars protected on stands........... oh wait, if you had any sense and you owned a valuable instrument you would KEEP IT IN ITS CASE.

dont worry about FP. a nice chamois or microfiber cloth will do everything you need . NO WATER

it looks a guitar trying to be one of those thug girls in velour jumpsuits.
maybe it's for historic or museum guitars.

Because of the fragility of the finish I doubt any touring pro would be using an FP guitar ... not unless he had a luthier to refinish it for him every 6 months or so.

That's why they all use Conde's![;)][;)][:D]

FP is thinner and gives less resistance to vibration. commonly pros have a lacque back and sides and an fp top. there is quite a difference.

also, any touding pro knows that the more beat to **** his guitar looks the more credible he is!!!

that way it looks like you play alot.

put a cloth over the soundboard when you change strings. its a really easy way to avoid the problem
