Pgh_flamenco -> Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl (Jan. 20 2009 14:07:48)

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made it to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years. This was after having played the toughest schedule of teams in professional football this year that any team had to face. Sunday’s game with the Ravens was also the most physically violent game I can remember ever seeing. Enthusiasm for the team in 2005 caused a fan to have a heart attack when a player fumbled during a playoff game. It was national news. The guy had so much attention from the media and football players that when I went into the bar that this happened I found that the patrons were all jealous and sick of hearing about it. He had free tickets to the rest of the playoff games and the Super Bowl. A bedside interview of this guy in the hospital by a local newscaster revealed what one might experience in the afterlife. After being informed that the patient’s heart and breathing had stopped during the heart attack the reporter asked if he had seen a “white light.” The patient responded, “Yeah, with a big, gold Steelers banner across it.” In another story a women who was expecting to give birth on Super Bowl Sunday got permission from her doctors to have labor artificially induced so that she would not miss the game. She actually went through with the procedure. Last week the mayor of Pittsburgh changed his name from Luke Ravenstahl to Luke Steelerstahl just before the Ravens game. Because the winning team members get to wear a Super Bowl Ring the 2005 drive for the fifth ring was called “One for the Thumb.” That leaves an interesting possibility for the location where a sixth ring might be worn… Good luck Steelers.
