Considering what might happen if the top of this headstock bumps into anything is this design such a good idea?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. I think it would look better without that extra thin piece. Looks too unbalanced.

reminds me of Ziltoid: The Omniscient http://www.insideout.de/catalog/images/presse/DevinTownsendZiltoid.jpg

Oh hell no. That's like that one annoying strand of hair sticking out of grandpa's nose, that you become fixated on plucking while he's dozing off. You're just dying to pluck the little bastard with some needle-nose pliers. If that were my guitar, I'd purposely smack it just to break that thing off.

It's Charlie Brown's single strand of hair in the front of his head.

Bleh, it looks like a really bad corporate logo for some faceless company with a name like Cencodyne or Cyberserve.

2 ideas:

1. Zorro
2. ..maybe a new trend... the multifunctional guitar. here: guitar + can opener

This might be a case of copyright infringement.

It's billed as a "cult classic" these days.

Who took my stapler? It was a red swingline.

That's hilarious. I forgot about that part of the movie.

That headstock "needs more flare."

Ok I can't resist. Yet another appropriate (or inappropriate) Office Space quote, that headstock makes me think of the scene that brought about this gem.....

Hey Peter, Watch your cornhole, buddy.

All kidding aside, I would not have chimed in if it weren't for my inability to resist one my all time favorite pastime, which my wife can't for the life of her understand, movie quotes. My brother and I grew up having entire conversations made up of quotes. It probably goes to show you.

Ok, one more: Peter: " Our high school guidance counselor used to ask us what you'd do if you had a million dollars and you didn't have to work. And invariably what you'd say was supposed to be your career. So, if you wanted to fix old cars then you're supposed to be an auto mechanic."
Samir: So what did you say?
Peter: "I never had an answer. I guess that's why I'm working at Initech" :) :)

I have seen such a headstock on a guitar in L.A. Is the name of this guitar a Cano (or something similar). Do you own one?

Could break.. That would be a pity. But looks fancy somehow. Like it.

Maybe it's designed to act as a sort of spring so you can bounce the guitar off the floor and catch it again on stage for a cool stunt? [:D]

Looks like the sort of guitar "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince" would use. [:-]

cheers,

Ron
