Hi Jim, Yeah, sometimes I get "black dog" days as well when everything I try to play sounds total rubbish. I think of all the hours and hours I've put in for little achievement and all the wee home repair jobs I've put off for months and months so the wife is yelling at me LOL! Also at my time of life, the learning faculties are steadily in decline, not like someone in their teens or twenties, so that makes it all the harder. Yet sometimes I pick up the guitar and just love the sound of a few chords and end up playing for hours and feel in a great mood at the end. For me, the best way to go for my own happiness is to have no "goals". I just let things develop naturally as I'm playing. I never practise any scales or anything, just bits of stuff I'm in the mood for. cheers Ron
