Hi everyone...Simon called last night and I realized I hadn't dropped by in a long time.

Spam coming your way folks...BEEP...BEEP...BEEP:

The front page of Deflamenco has an unusual double bill of interest to guitarists. A review of Jeronimo's new (first) recording by guitar expert Norberto Torres, and a preview of Tomatito's new (umpteenth) recording. Click on the guitarist of your choice at the English front page:

Hi Estela.

Tomatito has a new recording (drool).

Incidentally I heard a demo from Jeronimo and was extremely disappointed. How is his album being received so far?

I haven't heard the recording or know how it's been received, however this reviewer Norberto Torres is a man whose opinion I trust implicitly on all guitar matters, he's neither stodgy nor ultra-modern.

I think people who want straight-ahead traditional flamenco guitar without additives might be disappointed, although there are some true solo pieces according to the review. If you click on the picture of the record at the bottom of the review it takes you to a page where you can hear the tangos from the record.

The Real Audio clip is here

I am getting bloody awful quality with this rip. Not doing Jeronimo any favours, Estala.

Talking of Tangos, I had the great pleasure of seeing Radio Tarifa live up here in Aberdeen and meeting Amir Haddad (the guitarist on "Understanding Flamenco " CD) and the rest of the Band.
They're a wild bunch. LOL!
I love this Tangos which I tried to play for Jim & Rob in Dundee, but couldn't capture the same flavour due to lack of skill.
Look on Flamenco-World. com & type in "Radio Tarifa" and then click on "Fiebre", then the "Tangos de Aquerja".
As the man said....It's only rock and roll....but I like it! LOL!
By the way for those interested the vocal harmonies are done by Amir, who just stands in a corner all night playing Ud and drinking mucho bottles of Stella beer!

Yeah, I was listening to it down at my Dad's and his audio is screwed. Much better at home.
