I have a inner ear infection (woke up with it yesterday)nothing hurts but i am dizzy out of my mind and its so fustrating it really kills your sense of balance , i cant focus , i cant play , i cant walk a straight line lol

this is weird i never had anything like this before ...i had to walk to the shop yesterday morning to get Ice coffe and cigarets and it was so embarrasing...no matter how hard i tried to walk straight i couldnt i looked like a drunk heheh...people are giving me disgusted looks thinking ( this early in the morning ?[&:]) and i am saying..." I am not Drunk [8|]!" and they have that look like " Ahem[&:]" I been so self concious...hm PEOPLE ![:@] they the worst [:D]

I cant get to the doctor till monday so i got one more day and night lol...theres nothing to do but sleep but even that i cant do anymore cause i sleped about 14 hours non stop and now i am wide awake but dizzy ...crazy

Take care Flo.
This I hate about the internet. When a buddy is suffering and you can't get near him.
I hope everything gets well.

Get well soon.

Florian -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 13 2008 14:07:28)

[:D][:D]

there goes that idea (not sure where i got snake poison from either)

I googled it ...first answer i got

quote:

At first glance the lay-person may think that making antibiotics is a simple task, after all penicillin comes from bread mold or fruit mold (it is actually in a liquid secreted by the mold rather than the mold itself).

However, antibiotics are VERY complex molecules to make and CAN NOT be manufactured at home. It took years for nobel prize winning chemists to figure out how to make quantities of penicillin, so I don't think you'll have much luck: sorry!

Arrogant basta*d [8|] whos he calling "Lay" [&:]

srshea -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 13 2008 16:49:19)

Aw, man. That blows. Never had an inner ear infection myself, but I actually did have a really odd episode of off-balance disorientation just last night. Got out of the car in a parking lot and started to walk towards the store. I got about five or six steps before I felt a really strange sensation that something wasn't quite right and then looked up and realized that I was walking in a direction 90 degrees opposite to where I thought I was heading. I looked over and saw my girlfriend standing fifteen feet away, wondering where the hell I was going. This probably just sounds like a boring, everyday "oops" moment, but nothing like that has ever happened to me and it had a truly weird mental effect and was actually a little upsetting. When I stopped and realized what was going on I felt a little dizzy and very disoriented. When I tried to think back on the previous twenty seconds to make some sort of sense out of how I ended up where I was instead of where I though I was going I simply could not come up with an answer. It was kind of like there was a blank there, like a waking mini-blackout. I dunno if I'm gearing up for a stroke or if I was caught up in some sort of quantum physics business, but whatever it was, it was really strange and kind of unpleasant. Maybe it's all those home-made antibiotics I've been taking.

TANúñez -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 13 2008 16:53:07)

Mr. Daian,

I am no Doctor but perhaps you are suffering from Vertigo.

Vertigo (from the Latin vertigin-, vertigo, "dizziness," originally "a whirling or spinning movement," from vertere "to turn"[1]) is a specific type of dizziness, a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is actually stationary with respect to the surroundings.

Better yet, maybe you are experience 'Duende'.

Florian -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 13 2008 17:34:04)

wow srshea...i dont know..i dont know if its something u should bo worried about or not but i am sure its fine...but i appreciate that it scared u..until i spoke to a friend and said not to worry that he had the exact same thing as me and it was a inerear infection i was worried too..

in anycase thank you for sharing its nice to know we were both off balance last night 2 continents apart lol

yeah thats what it is lol

maybe i am speaking too soon but i could swear i am a litlle less dizzy then i was yesterday and even this morning...wonder if this things ever go away by themselfs

Estevan -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 13 2008 19:30:51)

anyone ever had this before ?

You're in good guitaristic company, mate - Julian Bream had this many years ago, and John Williams had it more recently. Julian kept on doing concerts, but couldn't bow, so he had to do a curtsey - you might want to start practising that... [;)]

The main thing is, they both recovered and could still play afterwards, so you probably will too.
Hope you feel better soon.

Now that's the kind of thing that makes me think it was some sort of cosmic event, some kind of psychic wormhole! Sounds like the set up for a crappy sci-fi movie.

rombsix -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 14 2008 1:21:53)

Hey Florian! Sorry I didn't read this earlier. I've just started my surgery rotation a week ago, and it is taking up A LOT of time (to an extent that I haven't touched the guitar in for about 6 days now)!

First off, how did you know that you have an inner ear infection? There are many reasons why you can be experiencing what you're experiencing. You'll have to try to differentiate between vertigo and dizziness. I've attached some links to this message for you to check out. It might not be the case that you may need antibiotics.

If you can get your hands on some vestibular suppressants before you get the chance to visit your doctor, that might make things more tolerable.

Keep me posted!

a couple of friemds described exactly the same sympthoms so i assumed...i dont know anything else that messes with your balance this badly...then again i am not a doctor lol i am just guesing..

thanks man...i love this forum !! one can even get medical advice :-)

i am seeing the doctor tomarow so il keep u posted

Gummy -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 14 2008 4:59:48)

I'll bet he does this to ya.

It seems pretty effective for non virus caused vertigo.

Hopefully you get better, you would look pretty funny having to perform with people holding you up. You would also have to look straight ahead while playing so you don't start the world spinning again.

Ricardo -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 23 2008 7:18:20)

So what was it?

Florian -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 23 2008 21:34:14)

I dont know for sure yet...it slowly gets better each day..but i can still feel a litlle of it..

doctor gave me some Stemzine ( for dizzines and ear)

and the other day i went and did blood tests just in case its i have low Iron (waiting on results)

I think I irritated my right ear when recording having the volume way too loud ( i remember leaving the volume on acidentaly way to loud a few times) in just one ear..also its crappy headphones so i have alot of squeaking noises in my ear while not playing music ( in between takes)..and all on my right ear lol...i like to keep the left ear free so i can hear the guitar as it sounds..

I suspect this because as soon as i try to record again and do the same thing the dizzines instantly hitts me ...and its only on the right ear....so whatever it is my right ear drum is irritated..

doctor says it is posible to irritate your ear drums

Pgh_flamenco -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 23 2008 22:47:23)

I think it's called ataxia. You can read a little bit about it here on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ataxia

Since smoking can't help your balance now might be a good time for you to stop.

It's also possible (and quite easy) to damage them without feeling anything. The damage is irreversible. Be careful man.

edguerin -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 25 2008 4:46:12)

Hi Florian,

your symptoms should be gone by now (or at least VERY much better).
If your doctor is a GP, then have an Ear-Nose-and-Throat (ENT) specialist have a look.
If that doesn't help go to a neurologist.
Please do; don't let things get chronic.

If you're o.k. meanwhile, all the better.

Feliz Navidad y prospero Año Nuevo

Florian -> RE: For Something totaly diferent (Dec. 25 2008 5:17:27)
