Hi

not quite sure wether I should've posted this in the luthiery section, but here goes:

which of the following wooden guitar stands would you recommend?

stagg SG-AW10
stagg SG-AW50
(stagg seems to change their links quite often, so these may not be up to date)
tenayo

and what do you think of humidifiers, e.g. :

humidipak
planetwave

guitar stands

Don't know about that, but I also have a question...
I heard, or was told years ago that I shouldn't hang my guitar up on the wall (after buying and fitting a hanger and the guitar looked great up there), so ever since then it lves in its case. I don't use it half so much that way. IS there a reason I SHOULDN'T hang it back up on the wall?

Also - I'm looking for a decent music stand - not one of those cheapo brass-looking things that topple over all the time, but something sturdy that looks good. Any recommendations?

I think a guitar in a case is always going to be better protected from knocks, central heating, damp, sunlight, guests etc so that's probably why people advise against wall hanging.
I guess you should take these things into consideration, but a guitar on the wall is more readily accessible and gets played more.

The simple solution is to buy more guitars... [:D]

I keep my cheap guitar on the wall and the more expensive one in the case.
Incidentally I've found steelstrings can be kept anywhere as they don't get played anyway (on top of the wardrobe is a good spot).

I have a (not wooden) Stagg stand, and it's ok - like most of their stuff it's built to a (rather low) price, but does the job.

I have a few wall hangers for my guitars in my room, which are all Hercules - they make great stuff, though the neck pockets aren't wide enough to hold my flamenco or classical guitars - you may need a different model.

I've also just gotten a PW humidifier, but it only arrived today so I can't really give you any feedback on that just yet.
