Couple of interesting new resources have appeared on the Internet. One is called Europeana, offering access to tons of documents from libraries all over Europe...

...although I see now that it's not available. It seems that the site couldn't handle the heavy traffic and collapsed just a few days after its launching. Oh well, never mind....[:D] I had a peek the other day, and it looked very interesting. I read that Spain has contributed very little in the way of documents (lagging behind in the digitization process), but there should be plenty of interesting stuff.
The other resource is the Google-hosted publication of millions of photos from Life magazine.
