mark indigo -> RE: vicente amigo book"Campo de la verdad" (Nov. 3 2008 23:29:57)

no

i asked about this book 3 or 4 months ago, i don't think anyone had it then, seems like noone had it now....

dunno if you have been on here much, maybe try posting something about yourself, what you like, what you play, why you're interested in the book, get people interested in you and your playing and maybe you'll get more response...

...or maybe not, i guess if noone has the book.... maybe everyone on the foro will just post "no"

is it good? accurate? who is it transcribed by?

I have it too.

It's excellent. I am working on the bolero. The bolero is not complete 100%, but what is there so far is very accurate.

I haven't worked on anything else yet, but it all looks good to me.

To be honest, I can't say if the notation is accurate, because I haven't tried any of the songs yet. But it looks oke to me. There is standard music notation and tab, which is good. But there is no notation of the left-hand-fingering (is this the right way to say it? [8|]) and not so much righ-hand-fingering also, so that will make it harder for me study it (which could also be better, because I will probably learn more and I won't become too lazy! [;)] ).
Because of this, I think the Claude Worms book 'maestros contemporaneos de la guitarra flamenco' is a bit clearer to me, but Campo de la Verdad looks good too. Ofcourse this is just my personal opinion.
It sure will be a good supplement, because it contains other songs.
Transcription was done by Max Herzog

I hope this will help you a bit.

yes, corecto! (which probably isn't the right way to say "correct" in spanish, but what the hell, it's spanglish!)

Look up REZARITO ON UTUBE. HE'S TRANSCRIBED HEAPS OF STUFF FROM VICENTE AMIGO....
Go nuts

I just got the book for Christmas.
It's nice but not good enough for the price. The tabs and notation are simplified which is actually nice because it gets the gyst of the piece without much complications. However there is very little detail in the sheet itself regarding left hand fingering, rasgueados etc. It kind of looks like sheet in the power tab. Maybe I'm spoiled by Faucher's details.

But the good thing about it is that if you know what you're doing, or better yet if you know what Vicente is doing you can learn the piece. Again it's devoid of many little details that make Vicente's pieces so beautiful but yet so hard to pull off.
Also the timings are strange, not the typical 3/4 you see in Faucher.

Bogdan
