So finally they are to search for the bodies of the victims of the Civil War. I am glad the family of Lorca realise this is not just about him. I never understood why they opposed it. I would have thought that a catholic family would have wanted him buried in consecrated ground and given a proper funeral not just left in a common grave dug by his murderers. I dont see why it should turn into any more of a spectacle than say visiting his house or birthplace. As it stands now the place where he was shot has been made into a memorial park and can be visited. On the anniversary of his death many of the flamencos of Granada gather there. I missed it this year but am told it went on all night, candles burning and cante jonda.

Hola Kate

I cannot understand how you can stand to live in Granada: it is very beautiful, but it gives me the creeps everytime I visit, thinking about the fascists who continue living and ruling behind this lovely fachada.[:o]

Suerte

Sean

Hi Sean,

I dream about Cadiz but that wild wind just ruins my hair [;)]

Ay Granada, yeah the city that killed its poet but there are still enough artists, poets, dreamers and lovers here to compensate for the mallafolla, machoismo and fascismo.

Abrazos de Grana'
