i dont usually write about strings but i tried these today, and my first impression is theyre great. They have a really nice crunch when you do rasquedos, and are generally quite a crisp sounding string.
I wasnt huge on the la bella black trebles as i felt for me they had absolouly no tone at all, JUST crunch (great for rasquedos). The aranjuez strings seem to have the crunch, yet still maintain decent tone when you need it (they are black trebles also).
I have only had them on for a few hours but so far i am loving these strings, does anyone here happen to use them or know what the other aranjuez strings are like?

Hi Dom.

I use aranjuez concert silver and they are great on my guitar.
The other brand that I use lot is luthier.

That's how I feel too about the Labella's, that's why I switched back to D'Addario J45 trebles. I'll have to try these Aranjuez ones now. thanks for the review,

Mark

What do you mean by La Bella black trebles having "only crunch and no tone"?

Guest -> RE: Aranjuez Spanish Silver 200 guitar strings (Sep. 2 2008 17:56:42)

i dont know if its a great description but i mean that when you do a rasquedo or something the strings have a slight rattle or something (a percussive sound) and 'no tone' meaning when you hit a single not in a melody or falseta its not as musical as some treble strings are, the note doesnt ring well. but it could be on my guitar theyre no good cause heaps of people love the la bellas.

Hi Mark, good to hear! Yeah i may be making the switch from pro artes too, still got to see how they fare after a week or so. But so far so good...

Anders Eliasson -> RE: Aranjuez Spanish Silver 200 guitar strings (Sep. 6 2008 0:24:52)

What is interesting is how they perform after a while. A week , 2 weeks and not after 2 hours, so please continue the review.

The La Bella Black trebles are great for guitars with strong trebles and lots of harmonics. They dampen this tendency a little bit making the guitar sound flamenco and the good part about them is that IMO the are very percussive, reacts a lot to the touch and have maybe the best picado feel on the market.

But as said many times before, they are not for all guitars. IMO there´s no fantastic strings, but some suit your guitar and playing style a lot better than others.

Haha! Oh yes, I totally agree. We shall see how long they last. Especially the unraveling D string syndrome that’s plagued by some brands. But I can tell right away that I like these alot. But so far so good for me too. They sound & feel great and have a nice punch to them. Give them a try Andres, they're only $7.50 a pack. [:)]

The Labellas are great strings. But like everyone says, some guitars like them more than others. I've tried lot's of different strings/brands lately trying to find what sounds & feels the best on my guitar. And so far, I'm impressed with these Aranjuez's but we shall see. I'll give you guys a review in a week or two on how these are still holding up.

cheers!

[:D]yes. the first 2 or 3 days, all strings are fantastic, crunchy and muy flamenco.

Strings on flamenco guitars are like fxxxxg Mayflies. They live 4 days maximum.

On good guitars they last longer than on not so good ones.

Ok, well... At first I thought they were great, with crispy trebles and bright sounding bases. And they are lasting well enough. But then as time went on, I realized that they seemed to be a little too thin for my taste; especially when I really dug in and or played rasgueados. (after all, they are a low tension set) I guess I like my strings with a little more meat to them, hehe. After I put back on some D’Addario J45’s, & Luthier 20's, it felt and sounded… much better. [:D]

Oh well it was worth a look[:D] Im still happy with them in every way they work well on my guitar. They did unwind on the bridge and the A snapped but i got a good 2 weeks out of them before that and i usually have to change strings every 2 weeks anyway so it was all good.

I've tried various Aranjuez strings on a few different guitars and in general they sound good but break easily (as yours did, at the bridge).

For archive purposes, the same old EJ45 vs video. The Aranjuez silver 200 are now made by Augustine. I do not remember the old ones unfortunately, but these are alright. Quite inexpensive set, strong basses, for low tension, and quite bright sounding black trebles. All nice. The only weird thing I got was a abut of a buzzing 3rd string that did not go well after turning it upside down (rollers to bridge), but I assume it was just this set.
