John O. -> In Sevilla this Summer! (Apr. 14 2008 10:52:36)

Hi guys,

yup, just booked a nice cheap flight from 29/07 to 07/08 [:)][:)][:)]

We'll be traveling through Jerez and Cádiz too, staying at different hotels.

Anybody gonna be in the area at that time? Anyone have a spare guitar? [:D] Won't have mine along [:@] but it's probably better that way as it's supposed to be a vacation with my wife...

I'll be checking out concerts/festivals, if anyone could let me know what's going on between those dates I'd be grateful!

Later,
John

Going to Sevilla, Jerez and Cadiz without a guitar................ You need to have a serious talk with your wife[:D]

Not taking a guitar?
Prehaps a perfect excuse for purchasing a new one....

Hehe, don't make my wife have to kill me [:D]

Actually there are few as understanding as my wife when it comes to my guitar playing. We made a deal because I was at the Gerardo course without her last year and besides that we didn't have a vacation. I was in Sanlucar for 6 days last month with nothing but a guitar in exchange for us having a nice Summer vacation spent together. She wanted to see Sevilla too so it's back to Spain [:)]

With the guitar there I'd only be annoyed that I couldn't play it all the time so I decided to leave it. Take in more of the culture, the sights, get out and try to speak some Spanish - the guitar will be waiting for me when I get back...

I'm gonna go this summer, probably granada/jerez, not sure when though, depends on how much my next wage is.

I'll have a guitar but not a spare. I'll let you know if I book flights and it coincides with your dates.

so youre going 29th Jul - 08 aug?? Scorchio!!!! is that the hottest time?

Although I love the sun, Im worried I may not be able to operate comfortably.

Stu

stu,

im irish, we get less sun then ye do, i drank at least 3 litres of water each day and kept taking strong multivitamins, i think that was the only way i could stay up until 4 each morning and somehow function at gerardo's course with 5hrs sleep each day.

I have fair skin but can handle the heat pretty well if I'm careful. I love dry heat, 40°C and more - I'm an f'in lizard [:D]

I'll be going this summer as well, most likely early July. Not sure yet if we'll base our trip in Granada or Sevilla.

Anders, how for is your workshop from those cities? I'd love to stop by and try out a guitar. I'm hoping sometime in the next few years I'll be able to splurge a bit on a luthier made guitar.

Anders Eliasson -> RE: In Sevilla this Summer! (Apr. 15 2008 6:52:07)

NeZ.

I´m 80km from Sevilla. I pick up in Niebla or Huelva and send you back with the bus. Easy stuff.
I should be here in July, but it depends on my girlfriends vacations, so a good idea is to mail me first.

Thanks for the info, Anders.

We just booked our flights today. We'll be arriving the afternoon of 6/30 and leaving on the morning of 7/8.

We're flying into, and out of, Sevilla Airport.

Anders,

Once we're closer to the date I'll send you an email or give you a call. We'd love to take a day trip to visit your shop and anything of interest around you.

Anyone else that has hints for what to do or see while we're there, please chime in.
