(Apr. 12 2008 13:55:25) I've just started to digitalize all my transcriptions and printed music, using my Canon Pixma MP500, at 150dpi (the lowest possible resolution, a book of 80 pages comes to about 14mb). It will probably take me a couple of months to do this. Do you normally archive your music just in case disasters happen, like burglary and fire.

So I prefer to have hard copies!! but i guess its the same mentality of wanting to have backups. id say get a scanner and do it that way. stu

(Apr. 12 2008 20:29:56) Having a printed copy is probably best but most computer printers don't provide "archive quality" in that many types of ink are not waterproof, and some types fade over time. To be really sure you can take your printed copies to a photo-copy centre and have them copied with superior equipment. Keeping digital copies burned to CD-R is also a good idea. Jim
