The Tri cities being Kingsport, Johnson City, or Bristol Tn. Knoxville, Tn might be possible also.

Other places I could drive to would be Abingdon,VA / Bristol, VA/Marion, VA.

Anyone have info on any teacher or someone who might be able to direct me towards a teacher.

If you are new to nylon stringed guitar you might not have to limit yourself to a flamenco instructor--considering how rare they might be in your area. A classical guitar instructor would be helpful. All of the instructional flamenco DVD's require the learner to have basic classical guitar technique.

You can keep looking for a flamenco instructor, but with the internet and instructional DVD's you have other options, too.
