Hey guys. I have been off the forum a bit whilst trying to get my fingers and head round the Buleria from Gerardo Nuñezs "andando el tiempo" - Siempre es tarde. I noticed that this has had requests for tab before but there doesnt seem to be any decent ones available..... So.....with about 2 weeks of painstaking work, I finally got round to making an accurate and playable transcription. Firstly I have to say a big thanks to Adam (ramparts) for helping me put it in pdf form. This had to be posted in 8 seperate pdfs due to size. About the tab - This came from several sources. Firstly the original record. However it was tricky to figure out how he was doing everything and also he plays it differently in concert. The second source was a live recording and lastly a video which helped with the chord positions and fingering. The positions are accurate. I would ask anyone to post corrections to some of the trickier bits. Ok here is page 1

Now page 2. This part (pages 1 and 2) was actually taught to us by Gerardo himself so I know its 100 % correct.

page 4 There is a tricky section at line 6. It appears that he is using his thumb to play 6th and 5th strings as a rhythm. I am not 100 % sure this is correct- any offers?

page 6 What a nightmare!! This cost me a long time to figure out. I am sure that the decending run on line 3 has an error but its so fast I cant work it out. Its all in pulgar. Please correct it somebody. The alternate chords all work and he sometimes uses the 1st variation, sometimes the second. Line 7 may have a note too many or one 2 little in the first change between postion 8 and 10. I think its correct but again happy to be proved wrong.

page 7 after the nightmare of page 6, page 7 is a dream. The second arpeggio in line 2 needs careful practise to make it fit the same rhythm as the other arpeggios. Each one is slightly varied for fun!!

page 8 The finale. The last 3 lines are correct [:)] Line 5 has a weird technique in brackets that is played on the CD. I cant see if its ppi or pim something even more exotic. In concert he plays the simplified pi pi and ends in compas on the B chord. The beginning section is all in pulgar. The chord shapes and positions are correct. Please check the melody for yourselves. Its close enough at speed and I think its ok but again please post any correction if necessary. Finally...this is a monster piece of composition and performance. The 6 or so different arpeggios in buleria have to be memorised and played as tabbed. GOOD LUCK!!

Really good work as it looks like. I like the piece and maybe practice it a bit. But I think its a bit to special to get it rock.. Hey, why dont you upload a video, where you play it very slow but in compas. Than its faster to talk about some tricky parts. [;)]

Thank you so much guys. I thought you might appreciate it. I guess it will take few days to work through and come up with corrections. Yeah John it was a lot a work. It took roughly a day to do each page over a 2 or 3 week period. Doitsujin... I will load up mp3s but I'm ashamed to say, I have no idea how to edit and post video....i even had to get ramparts to make the pdfs for me. I am a real techno-dunce. Its honestly easier for me to figure out a Gerardo Nuñez tab than it is to make a video, edit, format and post it on the net!!

That's great, Marcos. Thanks! Have you ever considered using powertabeditor or guitarpro? It could be much faster and obviously it's an enormous help to have the notation as well for rhythm, even though we've all heard the song and can use it as a reference, but for some people it makes it more difficult whether they've heard it or not. Nevertheless, it looks good! Thanks!! [:)]

Hmmmm...as i said, I'm a bit of a dunce and still happier with good old fashioned pencil and paper. If anyone has time to put it in guitar pro, please be my guest. I have already put as much work into writing this as i want to and want to get into actually playing the thing. It's up to you guys now. Work through it and please post corrections to any errors for all of us. I really would like to know if the pulgar run on page 6 is correct. Thanks.
