I'm using Guitar Pro 5 to tab out my first composition. Does anyone know if this version supports golpe or any sort of symbol to indicate tapping on the guitar body?

In the section "effects" in the floating tools-window you'll find a "T" for tapping, which could be used for the golpe.
Alternatively you might choose:
->"Note">>"text" and then insert a "G" or a symbol.
Or you can insert a marker named "G", "Golpe" "X" or whatever...
