Conrad -> problem: download streaming, unending video (Apr. 1 2008 23:52:51)

Is there any way to download a live, streaming video like an online TV player? RealPlayer tries to download it, it starts, but then it fails one second in, don't know why. We're talking about a stream here, one that keeps going like TV. Thanks for you help, friends.

You should do a Google search on this topic. I researched it last year and found some freeware for basic applications, but you might have to buy software for what you are trying to do. Sorry I can’t be more helpful here.

Ya, me, too...

I thought realplayer had purported to be able to do this, but it doesn't quite work. I click its popup downloader (which is brilliant in all other circumstances) and it starts but says "O.O of O.O MB" recorded and the progress bar is immediately full. However, whenever I pause it and locate the file, I can see that there is a file downloaded and its size seems to correlate to how long I left it on to record, but when I go play it, the file only plays for one second and then quits. Weird. Anyway, I've put a query in to the realplayer forum, but probably no one will answer. Maybe I have to buy realplayer in full, who knows...

I will tell you though, I'm trying to use it to record Andalucia TV which is now broadcast free online!!! They have a weekly flamenco show plus a talk show on which there are sometimes flamenco guests. It would be nice to capture those things and then share them on youtube. Ondajerez TV can also be watched online but the quality is worse and I've never found a reliable/understandable programming guide for that station.
