Thanks Tom-I'm a pretty big Mustang fan. My dad had a couple when I was a kid in the sixties. I like the fastback's the Mach's, really like the converts like Simon's, and of course the shelby's. The one I have I bought for my daughter. She totaled it driving to work on a rainy morning. She walked away without a scratch. A friend of mine reserected it and now it's almost ready to get back on the road. I got my kid a different car, and now the mustang is mine, although my 14 year old daughter has her eyes on it...............

Glad your daughter was not injured in the crash. I really like the current Mustang design. It reminds me of the old fastbacks/Mach's. I didn't care for the previous designs. The 1987 designs were cool too though. I really like that Bullett edition.

Winner! Yes, it is a pretty good movie isn't it?

A sleeper of a movie that is very enjoyable is the Matador with Pierce Brosnan post Bond so to speak. Eveyone should check it out - you will be pleasantly surprised.

TANúñez -> RE: Best movie ever (Apr. 6 2008 22:38:06)

Speaking of Bond, what about Casino Royale? I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever! He makes the other Bond's look like boyscouts.

I'm afraid its Sean Connery all the way for me. There was nothing wrong with Daniel Craig's preformance, but I just felt that he lacked the depth of character that Sean exudes. And also the movie was very "Americanized"... it focused too much on flashy, unrealistic special effects, and lost some of the charming humor of the old Bond films. Just my 2 cents...

I have to disagree jb. My favorite was Connery until I saw Casino Royale. I read somewhere that Craig wanted to build up and look like he could actually do the things he was doing on camera and I think he pulled it off well. It is as you say 'Americanized" though. I think Craig's Bond is a much darker character than the previous Bonds. More serious. More kick your butt and less womanizing. More feelings. I can't wait for the next Bond, 'Quantum of Solace'. It's the first sequel to a Bond film. It's supposed to start off about an hour after 'Casino' left off.

Escribano -> RE: Best movie ever (Apr. 8 2008 1:15:35)

The Scottish Bond every time for me and the first Mustang got out early just to appear in Goldfinger [:D]

cathulu -> RE: Best movie ever (Apr. 8 2008 19:42:40)

Speaking of Bond, I think each had their charms, but Sean was the best - if only because he has the best voice. Hey, does anyone remember Zardoz? [:D][:D]

However, I do like the Daniel Craig version, seems more realistic to me.

I think that's code for 'he wanted to look like Connery...' which he does, a lot, the first hard-ass, hairy chested Bond in a long time and an obvious tip of the hat to Sean. But as you say, it's somewhat darker, things aren't so kitsch as in the swingin' 60's...

Same as tanunez expect enter the dragon in place of the passion.

PS If anyone has a 69 charger I would be more than happy to clean it for free. All I ask is to put pedal to the metal ONCE for a lifetimes cleaning duties.

I recently watched the film into the wild after reading the book , its a great film and a great book . The true story of Chris McCandless life .

Florian -> RE: Best movie ever (Oct. 24 2008 17:16:41)

best movie i have seen this year is Blood Monkey. ..they are like regular monkeys but they are thirsty for blood [&:] very very scarey and original...its set in a jungle..its cutting edge because in most horrors the list likely one always survives...not in this one...everyone dies

thats what happens when you seen every movie in your dvd store...u get relegated to b grade and c grade movies

It certainly is. Mine is an early '65 (originally a 260 V8 now a 302) produced in March 1964. If you remove the steering wheel hub, it says "Falcon Sprint" underneath [:D]

Here she is near my house in Spain a couple of years ago.

Still in the garage down there and I do miss her but not much chance to drive it over here with the fuel prices and crappy weather.

Try " Local Hero" a film about Scotland, if you ever see it for rent.

You'll love it!

That's a beautiful film, one of my favourites. (Not a single car chase or gladiator anywhere, though...)

P.S. for the motorheads; it seems you guys only like American cars, but for a while in my yoof I had a 1958 MGA which was just great. Don't have a picture of it.
