Great link thanks. I must find out more about this guitarist.

My wife is learning belly dance (arabic dance) and so I'm learning a Zambra to accompany her.
There's loads of inspiration on You tube. It never ceases to amaze me.

Being Turkish and having grown up listening to many Oud -Saz and Baglama players is what attracted me to Flamenco music, besides the fact of having played clasical guitar and the wish to improvise. I hear so much of that middle eastern sound in Flamenco, especially coming from the Oud, even the technic of playing with the thumb is a heavily influenced by the sound of the Oud, in fact one could say it is a technic that imitates the dry sound of the Oud.

The man is an amazing player. Thanx for the link.
