The website deflamenco has a survey where you can vote for the best flamenco of 2007

I voted for Miguel Ochando as best debut album, Marina Heredia also got my vote and of Estela Zatania for best book. Anyone who can read Spanish I really recommend this, its fascinating and entertaining and illuminating how the Gitanos of Andalucia were living in the 50's. Sorry guys but back then it was just cante and baile, no-one could afford a guitar.

I am going with Chicuelos new album for best guitar (also enjoyed Santiago Lara and Daniel Cassares )



ALicia GIl should get something too cause i love her voice
I like what i heard from Tiempo muerto by R.Amargo for best crossover, if the track i am thinking with Flavio Rodrigues is in the same album.
Rafael Campallo for best dancer newcomer , all tho hes not so new lol

but besides Chicuelo and Alicia GIll, its a bit unfair on the candidates my voting because i am not really judging them on 2007 performance just on reputation and past work, i am not exactly up to date with what everyone has been doing in 2007.



what happens with the vote results are they some kind of awards ? or just a opinion poll ?

Yeah its just a readers poll, no prizes but the voters may win a t-shirt I think. I doubt the flamenco police will come get you all the way over there for voting for your favourites. They may get me though I just voted for my friends [&:]

Everyone from Granada of course. Marina Heredía ( she recorded some of "Voz del Agua" in our studio and we're recording with her dad 'El Parrón' at the moment), Miguel Ochando as best debut album and best guitar album ( Emilio plays on this as well and I bought it for my Dad who loves it) Juan Andrés Maya the dancer for his show "Renaciemiento" ( which I saw with my folks over Christmas and has friends Maya and Emilio, El Cheyenne and Rafaela and Rafael Santaigo Habichuela in it). And of course for Estela's book ' Flamencos de Gañania' which I bought and am reading so over all I may be biased but I did buy the cds, and book and see the show.
