No worries Anders, I've been living here in Colombia for the past couple of years (I'm a US citizen) and I run into this problem all the time. One big problem for me are people who look at me and decide, before they even talk to me, that I don't speak Spanish well enough to say anything worthwhile to me. I can't tell you how many conversations about food I've had. Hence, the three dreaded questions that I've answered a million times: What do you think of the food? How long have you been here (and when are you going back)? What do you think about the women? I identify with your frustration. If I could speak to you in your native tongue (Danish?) I would, but for better or worse English is truly the international mode of communication at this time. I'm amazed at how good everyone's English is on this forum, its a big accomplishment to say you've learned another (a 3rd in your case) language. With that said, I don't really think expressing yourself in your native tongue is very easy either... for those that do it well (in English) we hand out Pulitzer prizes and the such. For those of us that aren't at that level I think a bit of restraint goes a very long ways.
