hmmmm?? What kind of chair you using now?

how about this?

Haven't tried it myself but looks ok.

I was practicing on a nasty office chair as it was the one I used for my computer and couldn't fit 2 in the room. It was horrible and think it may have helped cause a recent bout of tendonitis. I ditched it for a rather harsh looking, four legs, straight back number and I couldn't be happier. no more back pains and the tendonitis has
gone too.

The simpler the better!!

Stu

Then it would no longer look ok. everytime I saw it would bring back the shocking reality of that incident.

but I was thinking more spanish guitar than inquistion, and just sitting on it and playing.

no rectums or tearing involved.

....hang on.....Am I missing some Monty Python reference John?

I had a back problem, too, and this adjustable chair really eliminated the problem. It's a bit expensive, but the specially-designed ergonomic office and music chairs are even pricier - like $350 to $700! I'm really happy with this and would recommend it to anyone!

Hey thanks for the responses.

Unfortunately, to me both these chairs look like they will kill my back... I need something that will support it. Playing laying down just doesn't work, gravity and all. [:D]

I will have to keep searching...[:(]

actually he guitar chair is your best bet. i built one. works great.

you wouldnt think a little back support like that would help, but it does all i need =)

I have one of these, and it can be pretty good, if you play with the guitar on the left leg classical style, and use a foot stool or a guitar support of some sort. I use a Dynarette, which works well for classical/flamenco guitars, steel string acoustics if they are not too big, and even some electrics. It can also work if you play with the guitar on the right leg, elevated by a foot stool, Dynarette or other support. However, if you cross your right leg over your left, you feel like you are about to fall over the edge, as the part you sit on is cut away on the right side. The advantage of using a guitar support (rather than a foot stool or crossing your legs) is that your feet can rest flat on the floor, both at the same level. Many people find this easier on the back.

Yes a guitarchair for 400Euro is a good idea. F.e. Im lefty and only use pencils especially for leftys. They cost 50Euro each. but finally I can write with them![:)]

Thanks man - nice to here your feedback as a user of the chair. I like to play crossed legged sometimes, so this chair I don't think would suit me. I am going to try something from IKEA or Office Depot.

Yes, I think modifying my playing would help my back. I think I am all twisted-up. Cycling doesn't help either.

I am on the Wet Coast, where are you?

Yes, IKEA is the password. Well.. do they sell guitars too?
