Jim Opfer -> Solea por buleria ideas (Dec. 18 2007 7:45:14)

Hi guys, I'm looking for a good Spb intro, something interesting, modern but not too hard. Any ideas and perhaps some tab to keep me on the right track?
Looking forward to hearing.

Cheers
Jim

Hi Jim,
One thing I've always loved about PdL's early SporB is that the ideas are always crystal clear and musically logical...even to anyone who knows nothing of Flamenco.
The LH stuff can be a bit tight, but you can miss out some of the more difficult stuff and still get the same idea of the message across IMO.

cheers,

Ron

Ron, like what? How early/what albums? The only early PdL CD I have is Fantasia, but sadly no SxB on there...

[:D] Sorry to laugh but this a great point about the other thread we have going regarding Solea por Bulerias. The point being, the track called "Celosa" is labled "solea", but it is POR MEDIO. And that material is like the same stuff you can use IMO for Solea por buleria. It is the same darn thing. But before Romerito comes in again, you have to distinguish the "aire" even though you can play those same chords and falsetas. So if you can figure out what that means, you are good to go with what you have on Fantasia.[;)]

OK, a generalization I would make is if you simply make the rhythm more rhythmically driving and steady, and a hair on the fast side, your solea por medio will start to have the "aire" for "solea por bulerias". Conversally if you slow down your solxbul falsetas and fill in with more arps and make the rhythm more elastic and dynamic, you can pull it off as "solea" instead. Hope that helps.[8D]

Hi Guys,
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I was more looking to get a recommendation for an actual intro sequence for me to work on.
Any suggestions?
