Hi. Me concidering myself just a part-time lurker[:D] thought I'd better post something. (only kiddin).
I saw this guy in Canada a couple of years ago playing at a fete at Frazer Lake I think it was.
Someone mentioning stuff about Todd's click-pick-pick-pick or something like that brought the guy back to mind.
At first I could only hear the guy playing, and he was using a finger style to start with then started single note picking, and I wondered how it was so clean sounding.
I walked over to see him, and saw that he was using his thumb for some stuff then started using a pick which was half way up his index finger. I've never seen this before. Sorta in between Todds style and a proper Flamenco style(this aint a dig Todd). It looked pretty useful in a lot of situations I thought.
Anyway, here he is...................

P.S. And I'm not gay or even part time gay either[:D]

Does he have that pick taped to his finger??

I'm not sure. I could'nt get close enough to see properly and could'nt wait long enough to go talk to the guy when he was finished. I'd imagine it would clip round the finger like a normal thumbpick type of thing. I've never seen anything like it in the music stores or even on the net.
He sounds a different player on this example, but when I saw him live, he did'nt have the other guitarist with him, only a percussionist and of course he had to play more fingerstyle to compensate.
I had'nt started flamenco at that time so I could'nt really appreciate how flamenco he actually was. He is Vancouver based, so the next time I'm there I'll check him out again if he's playing somewhere in the area.
He had a cracking tone off his instrument as I remember.

i´ve seen other vids of this guy

i´m not trying to pick any bones here, and i ain´t playing favorites

i thought your phrasing of
quote:

Sorta in between Todds style and a proper Flamenco style
was pretty funny lol

i would say that todd´s style is FAR more proper than this vid lol being that this is highly commercial rumba.... and todd is an ass kicking hardcore pro flamenco.....

not to say that rumba is illegitimate. i like the gipsy kings alot, i mean, i put it on in my workshop and rock out to that. dont get me wrong i enjoyed the vid.

however, i am biased... i really have a thing against piezo´s!!!!!
