n85ae -> Solea question (Dec. 4 2007 23:16:40)

I tried the tef upload in tabs, but the server ate the file. Here is a jpg

This is the first part I have tabbed of something I made up. It's supposed
to be a Solea, but I need some expert eyes. To tell me if it is Solea? There's
a whole bunch more, but my tabledit skills are slow.

Thanks,
Jeff

Difficult to say with such a small excerpt, but it doesn't sound weird to me.

Is it possible that you upload any record of this? I suspect that you play another rhythm in the beginning than you wrote.

Yeah. I wish there was a guideline for how this stuff is constructed, you can find a zillion tabs to learn to play, but what's the rules for creating something????
That's what befuddle's me. :)

Seem's like you make a bunch of these 12 beat assemblies, cram them together
such that they sound good, and poof instant solea ...

Georg -

You're probably right. I'll see if I can record something.

Let's see which excuse is best? Broke nails, broke guitar, broke mike, old
strings???? :)

Yes, I have a hard time doing that too.
I always try to let the compas end on the genuine E major thingy and be aware of the typical compas accents. But I think in modern flamenco even that is not necessary.
