I'm only repeating what I was taught - not in school, mind you, didn't check facts to be honest. "Egyptian" of course makes the most sense. Possibly the US term "gyp" did come after "Gypsy". There are lots of hidden racist terms in our everyday language like that which I've heard about but am not sure whether it's true, like why they're called JEWels... And I changed "Mexican" to "American", no disrespect meant. I love Mexicans [:)]
