Why is it that Paco has only one videoclip with Camaron yet you hear their names together all the time. But if you do a search on Camaron, you find tons of clips with Tomatito?

Just because Paco has recorded with Camaron and did not tour?

Maybe the search is better when you enter Camaron instead of Cameron.
Good luck!

Thansk Peter,

I corrected the spelling of the name. But my question was something else. Why do I find ton of Camaron/Tomatito Video clips but only one "Bulerias" clip of Camaron with Paco. Yet you hear that these guys (paco and Camaron) were like the unseperable flamencos of the era?

Alexandro

Ricardo -> RE: Paco and Cameron (Oct. 16 2007 15:16:21)

AT the time Paco and Camaron recorded together, Paco was becoming VERY famous as a soloist. In some cases with other singers, after paco accompanied, the crowd went to Paco for autographs or gave more cheers for his falsetas than the cante. That is a big dissrespect to the singer and Paco was frankly EXTREMELY embarrased by this. It means in flamenco terms, that the accompanist did not do such a good job accompanying and instead comes off like a show off. So Paco did not want to let that happen with Camaron so at that time you will notice he STOPPED accompanying in festivals all together.

Only in special occasions did Paco appear as an accompanyist after those successful records came out. That TV special was one, on another occasion paco accompanied Mairena. When he brings young singers on tour with his group, it is a way for him to promote new people, but he is not really the "accompanisit" in traditional terms. Hope this makes some sense.
