AT the time Paco and Camaron recorded together, Paco was becoming VERY famous as a soloist. In some cases with other singers, after paco accompanied, the crowd went to Paco for autographs or gave more cheers for his falsetas than the cante. That is a big dissrespect to the singer and Paco was frankly EXTREMELY embarrased by this. It means in flamenco terms, that the accompanist did not do such a good job accompanying and instead comes off like a show off. So Paco did not want to let that happen with Camaron so at that time you will notice he STOPPED accompanying in festivals all together. Only in special occasions did Paco appear as an accompanyist after those successful records came out. That TV special was one, on another occasion paco accompanied Mairena. When he brings young singers on tour with his group, it is a way for him to promote new people, but he is not really the "accompanisit" in traditional terms. Hope this makes some sense. Ricardo
