Kate -> Paco de Lucia sent us spam !!! (Oct. 15 2007 18:44:23)

I guess its a con !! But we invited Paco de Lucia to join Emilio's myspace and of course he jumped at the chance and then started sending messages telling us about his new wardobe and links so we could shop there as well. Guess I am going to have to delete the old bugger, oops can I say bugger ?

Kate

[:D] I'm sorry!! It's very possible it's not Paco, MySpace has SO many people who make accounts as famous people, just to be dumb. Have you seen this?

BBC: MySpace mystery for Miss England

quote:

Model Georgia Horsley, of Malton, North Yorks, wants MySpace to take down the bogus profile which claims she does not read and lists Katie Price as her hero.

She said: "It is scary to think someone has stolen my ID."

I'm not sure what "ID" she's talking about, but if England has already instituted national IDs without me noticing, MySpace at least certainly doesn't require them in order to make an account [:D] Just an amusing aside.

lol btw, proof that's not Paco: He's friends with Sabicas (dead) and Ottmar Liebert (not Paco's favorite!) :)

Well Kate, maybe Paco and Ramon are expanding the guitar business to include furniture as well?

I know they don't need the money, so maybe it's just a retirement interest? [;)]

(Maybe Paco signs the inside of the wardrobe! [:D][:D])

cheers,

Ron

I guess that means Camerón's not really Camerón. Does Elvis have a website ?

Agreed--for me, MySpace has way too many issues and about 0 benefits relative to Facebook. But that's me - MySpace is a better place than Facebook for a musician because the profiles are open (Facebook requires you to be a person's friend, or at least in their network), and MySpace's design is really customized for them - easy to put in music samples, tour dates, etc. Facebook isn't as good at any of that stuff - it's just far better for anything else [:D]

Ooooh! We need a foro Facebook group. Hmmm....done! [:D]

Florian -> RE: Paco de Lucia sent us spam !!! (Oct. 16 2007 4:24:17)

depends on what u are looking to get out of it, i mean all i need is somewhere on the net that i can upload my audio samples to so that is someone is interested in hiring me for a gig and wanna sample can just go there.

Facebook sounds more personal, i am not interested in getting more personal with anyone really or chatting or making more than short polite conversation.

I get some crazy emails from some people asking some crazy personal stuff but sometimes i get emails from people who I have never meet before saying they are going to be in Adelaide and do I wanna catch up ?.

What for ?lol what will we talk about after about the first 5 minutes..

My problem is ofcourse that i dont wanna hurt anyones feelings, so around xmass I am sopossed to catch up with this 40 year old woman who wants to meet me (and i just couldnt say no), because shes in Adelaide. ..(if she was a flamenco person atlist i understand, what are we sopossed to talk about ?)

There's nothing wrong with being a 40 year old woman per se - she could be extremely attractive, funny, clever, good company, and knows what she wants out of life.

Why on earth not? I can't imagine anything worse than meeting someone who doesn't want to meet me. Flo you should cancel. Be cruel to be kind. Don't sit there and suffer cos it will be horrible for her too.

If I ever come out your way I am so not gonna meet you for a beer, cos you be PMing guys on the Foro saying 'OMG I've gotta meet Ailsa cos she's out this way - what are we gonna talk about after I've said her hair braids are great?"[&:][&:][:D][:D]

Florian -> RE: Paco de Lucia sent us spam !!! (Oct. 16 2007 9:26:45)

I am sure she is lovely Ailsa [:)] its just a weird unusual situation.

If we were meeting we would have flamenco as our common interest to talk about.

the only thing i have in common with this lady is that i uploaded a song once, and she might have said she liked it once..thats it , we never talked ever since.

because i dont wanna hurt her feelings, i can go have a drink or a coffe , smille , sound pleasent and walk away without having to be cruel, its no big deal...just a litlle weird [:)]

there are plenty of worst things [:D]

u could get run over by a bus, the building u leave in could collapse, you could get shot at a bank holdup accidentaly, in comparition metting someone who dosent wanna meet you dosent even sound that unpleasent anymore the opossite acctualy next to the other options [:D]

Je je je. What I dont understand is that 'Paco' has hundreds of friends like Mercedes Sosa, Tomatito etc. What do they think when they get a mass advert from "Paco' trying to sell clothes ? And why hasn't someone reported it as a spam site !

Also apologies Ron this should have gone in off topic, not really flamenco related, especially as its not even about Paco !

Hey Adam so its not only US beauty queens that trip over their mother tongue and talk gobbledegook. In UK they say 'Stealing ID' when people hack into bank accounts, steal people's credit card details etc. What she meant was someone was faking her identity. At least I think that''s what she meant.

Grisha -> RE: Paco de Lucia sent us spam !!! (Oct. 16 2007 18:22:39)

Kate,

Don't jump to conclusions. I am sure the guy who created "Paco's" page is not a spammer. Today I received a spam comment (a link to some undressing chick) on my myspace page supposedly posted by a wonderful classical guitarist Flavio Sala, - a real person with whom I had correspondence and whom I trust to never do such a thing. Something like that happened before, also posted by people I trust. So it might be that the guy who owns Paco's page isn't even aware of these spamming wardrobe comments.

Best,

duende -> RE: Paco de Lucia sent us spam !!! (Oct. 16 2007 18:31:05)

sometimes your account getts hacked and they us it to spam. its obviously very comon
