Ah, I've forgotten some of the set by now. it was 6 pieces before the break, and something like 6 afterwards. The second half had the band doing their solos and for once i was inclined to dig the flute player, wow! he delivered the most inspired soloing imo, and i don't even like traverse flutes.. or so i thought. the opening rondena was fabulous, imo. in pacos solo numbers i had to close my eyes and seep in. i don't know, perhaps the guy doesn't enjoy playing as much as he did sometime in his youth, but the enjoyment that is there was transparent and a pleasure to listen to. the sound was really excellent so the dynamics in his playing was brought out nicely. sure, he does some flashy picados and things, but for me the highlight is definitely his command, how the tones make sense. montse and her co-singer sang well, but the mix felt a bit too wet with reverb and stuff for my taste, so i can't rally tell. the overall sound image was good though. really good concert! steep price, but delivered the moneys worth. ps Henrik. Great to meet you too! I might be heading down to gbg in the beginning of next month. there is some kind of a folk music festival a friend of mine wants to see.
