I began my learning with flamenco using the Dennis Koster books. His way of presenting the information is a bit different from many of the books. It certainly beats the Juan Martin and Juan Serrano books published by Mel Bay =) The first book of Koster's material covers a lot of the basic techniques and some here-and-there examples of palos. He goes back and forth between palos, from chapter to chapter while teaching new ideas and techniques. I kind of like his way of writing in that if you are self-motivated you can gain a lot from it without being bored, and still being challenged. The first book probably won't do much good for you unless you really are a beginner, but his second book is much more useful and has some more advanced music. I do enjoy his solos for alegrias, bulerias, soleares, seguiriyas, tarantas, granadinas.... but these are mostly compilation of many traditional falsettas with falsettas of great players. If you are experienced, you wll have seen a lot of it already
