Hello forum members,
i'm trying to studying some tremolos, first i tried with the callejon de luna one,
but for me it's blocking. I can't go ahead!
So now i'm trying to study the PDL one in the introduction of Barrio la vina.
slowing down the piece, i noticed that paco plays each note of the tremolo without
any pull off, and each note plays in the same manner!
Well i started to play it slowly note by note , but i can't speet it up without playing it dirty or with wrong notes.
I'd like to know if this approach is correct, and if and when it will give me the possibility to play it well.
Generally speaking i'd like to have some suggestions on how to play it well, and to improve it.
In particular i'm referring to tremolos where there are variations in the 'tremoled' note.

We talked about this recent. Do a search for tremolo. My advice again is to keep the fingers like 4 even 16th notes, then land on the NEXT bass note. Taka taka boom. And stop before doing the next group. You will clean up those moving melody notes that you can't synch. Keep your taka taka (iami) even and pretty fast, and boom is the the thumb. and stop. Get ready for the next note group. Like in Barrio la vina, the last measure of tremolo:

Keep it pretty quick, but take your time to do each line. That last one is iamia/p.

Your goal will be to keep the same playing speed, but simply take less time to do each group. Keep decreasing the time until you have a continous sound.

What a coincidence. I was just refreshing my memeory by listening to a Gerardo(sanlucar)exercise and maybe you can help me cos i forgot the fingering. After 4 finger tremelo he does 5 finger which he called "ida y vuelta" Does that go a,m,i,m,a or i,m,a,m,i
i assume 6 finger goes a,m,i,a,m,i
7 finger is i,a,m,i,a,m,i
and 9 notes is a,m,i,a,m,i,a,m,i

Just for kicks he does a continous tremolo with no bass notes and i cant remember weather this is just a,m,i repeated or the "ida y vuelta" technique although i am sure he can do either.

Franchiquito - i found humming the melody line while playing the bass notes and then adding the melody after humming it a few times sometimes helps!

I seem to remember other 4 finger tremelo variations were i,m,i,m i,a,i,a + m,a,m,a
which is useful to know if you lose a nail (as i did last week)

Pretty sure it was imami, like the solea arp up and down, just on one string. But honestly, I am just sticking with good ol piami.

If you think about it, that is a good way to learn how to NOT do a full plant, and get speed.
