Michael1917 -> Blue label Ramirez? (Aug. 8 2007 20:37:58)

Hello----can someone here explain to me the difference between a "blue label" Ramirez flamenco guitar and a regular Ramirez flamenco guitar? Were the blue label ones made by apprentices? Or ... what? Thanks.

The blue label Ramirez's are factory made guitars sold with the Ramirez label. I don't know who is making them now but they used to be made by Taurus in (I think) Valencia?

Thanks----I assume that would apply to a blue label Ramirez from the 1970s. I saw one for sale and was curious.

Wait a minute. Are we talking about the whole label being blue or just the border?

If it's a blue border, than the guitar is a 1A, which is (or was) made from the best materials available. Guitars with a red-bordered label are 2A's. 2A's were made with lower grade materials. What is interesting is a lot of the old 2A's built from lower grade Brazilian, would be premier now.

The current model Ramirez have all kinds of colors of labels, but the 1A's still have a blue border.

I have seen oval blue labels on low-end student Ramirez as John said, but if the edge is blue and it's a double sized label, it's a 1A.

Patrick,

I think the 1A's now have a silver border.

Tom,

If it's Tuesday and it's raining, they use the "silver" label, otherwise they use what ever falls on the floor!

I can't tell if it's blue or silver. Here is a picture of another 05 that looks more blue than silver.

Suffice it to say, if it is a double size label, it is a hand made guitar from the Ramirez shop (maybe, should be, could be, I think).

Patrick,

Let just call it Silver blue. Or, Blue silver. To make it even more confussing, here's a 2004 1A with no border.
