Hey mateys!

How is everybody? Did you miss me? Do you even remember who I am in the first place?[&o] I just wanted to keep you posted on my latest: I've been in Spain for the month of July on a research exchange program (I think I mentioned this before). I wanted to attend Gerardo's workshop but I couldn't due to many reasons (mostly that I just couldn't cut more work than I intended on cutting). I went to the following cities: Barcelona, Reus, Ibiza, Granada, Sevilla and stayed in Tarragona. It was an amazing month. I watched two flamenco shows (a Tomate concert in Palau de la musica in Barcelona), and flamenco show in Corral del Carbon in Granada. They were both amazing!! God damn Tomate can play!! He ripped his damn strings apart in that concert. His performance is much more energetic than that of Paco Pena's (that I watched in Lebanon in my university, AUB). He had Potito along with him, and another singer and crappy guitarist, as well as a famous dancer (whose name I forgot, but he looked familiar, and was amazing). He also had a cajon player/percussionist, and in total, they were seven people (even though the brochure said Tomatito SEXTET...). Amazingly, I couldn't find any luthier shops or guitarra flamenca related shops (or some that I did find but were closed) in Granada or Sevilla. I guess I was a moron not to have found them since a friend of mind went a week before I did and said he found many and even got me a nifty wooden cejilla for 7 euros which I just love (even though the Jim Dunlop one is more practical; the traditional wooden one causes some buzzing with the low E string). I guess I just went at the wrong time or the light reflected from the shops fell on my blind spot in some weird way (sorry, just a corny medical joke). The other show I watched was amazing. None of the artists was famous or well-known (at least to me), but I nearly cried during the show. Those expressions on the bailaoras were awesome! And also, I finished working on Panaderos flamencos (and by that I mean that I can now play it without looking at the score, but it is far from flowing smoothly) and am now working on Mantilla de Feria since I have three weeks of summer break left so I thought I'd keep myself busy so as not to get bored. So please give me your feedback! PS: I think the Alhambra was the most amazing thing I've seen in a very long time!

I wish I could, Florian...[&o] The internet connection I have is slower than yours (as yours seems to be slow according to what I've read recently), so uploading is nearly impossible. I wish I had a connection like the one in Spain. That was really fast!! I was able to download stuff at 80 Kbps, and was finally able to watch videos on youtube without actually having to keep going back to the beginning of the video after watching two seconds, and end up watching the whole thing in two-second intervals for an hour!!!

And thanks Romerito and Haitham!
