I understand that the back of a guitar is referred to as the suelo in Granada, but as the fondo in Cádiz. Gaditanos also refer to the masts of a ship as palos, though my novia, who is from a village in the sierra nearby, calls them mastiles. Meanwhile "caña" is another interesting word, referring to a bamboo stick, the same stick split and used as a percussion device, sugar cane, a glass for manzanilla, a palo flamenco and I don´t know what else! Isn´t learning Andalú fun[:D] Sean
