Hola,
F de H is something you don't hear much of as a guitar solo these days, unlike the 60's 70's.
These days it's always Bulerias, Tangos, Rumba Gitana and más Bulerias with a Rondeña thrown in to balance things up a bit.
Anybody know of any good, modern F de H solos by the younger players?
The last "modern" F de H I heard was PdL and that was decades ago, the rest, (Peña etc) is all Sabicas derived stuff.
I edit this to correct myself here. Actually Rafael does an interesting F de H on his "Mezquita" Album.

cheers

Ron

Hey Ron,

The F de H is one of my favorite toques. I think Niño Josele does a nice one on his latest release. I'll have to double check.

I like the way Manolo Sanlucar plays it on the Mundo and Forma series. That old school flamenco really ripped when they integrated the arps and picado with the bass notes. Smoking!

Hey Ron:

What about Pepe Habichuela. I have a recent video of him playing a F de Huelva, and it's well... modern sounding, LOL. Seriously good though. If you are nterested in him, I'll play the video over and find out the name of the piece.

Cheeers,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks, that would be great!
Thanks to everybody for their suggestions. All the F de H recordings I have are basically Sabicas derivates and though good in their time are a bit stodgy although the techniques are brilliant.

cheers

Ron

Are you thinking of El Dron from the A Mandeli album?

Ron's looking for an example - I haven't had a chance to look yet. Thanks!
