Otmar mentions that shiraki guitars are very rare. Images are resized automatically to a maximum width of 800px

But this sort of thing is common on instruments like lutes, etc. Originally, when guitars evolved, there was a "rose" in the place of the soundhole. as it evolved further, this dissappeared and was replaced with the "rosette". Or so I'm told. Jb
