I'm on to you [:D] Well, OK it's been 18 months and it wasn't quite as straightforward as I assumed but it's sort of getting there after a fashion[;)]

I've done quite a bit more since - like purfling and bindings (oh boy!) but haven't posted the photos yet.

Watch this space and be afraid!

Simon,
Jeez! I'm impressed, that's a lovely cypress back vou've made there and nice head design. Where'd you get all those Formers for the top and all those tools?
Fantastic bit of work, and your first guitar?
You'll need to post an Audio when she's strung up.
Congrats!
Jim.

Thanks, it's fun but the winter sucks for this, I need natural light, warmth and low humidity. The solera, formers etc. are made out of scrap MDF and plywood. All the instructions are from a couple of books and the plans from "Making Master Guitars". I spent about £500 on tools down at B&Q and specialist luthier suppliers, the rest I already had.

Yes, it's my first guitar. It's my first piece of woodworking since school. I will post an audio later in the year, if it doesn't collapse on stringing.[;)]

Remember Simon, keep it lightweight, 1.150kg.
Cheers
Jim.

Umm, the solid ebony binding won't help but I'll rout under the fingerboard to compensate - got to balance though. I'll remember the tip.

Simon,
What reference books are you using, who knows, I might give it a go!
Cheers

Why not, it's not difficult to get a result, just difficult to get a great result[&:]

1.This is the bible...Guitarmaking: Tradition and Technology - A Complete Reference for the Design and Construction of the Steel-string Folk Guitar and the Classical Guitar

2. And this has your plans plus some excellent historical detail...Making Master Guitars

I get my supplies from David Dyke in Sussex

Have fun.
