Difficult Pieces (Full Version)

Hey dudes,

I'm curious about the pros and cons of learning pieces/falsetas that are more advanced than where I am at.

So far I have noticed that by learning or attempting to play some rather difficult pieces (ie Nunez/Chicuelo Encuentro dvds) I have found them tough but ultimately feel they are pushing me forward.

So is it a good or bad idea?

i have the same feeling and i think it is no problem to practice falsetas which are beyond your current skills. I do the same.
It would be boring to practice technique over and over again and to play the same old fasetas the hole time.

But i think it is important to practice the difficult falsetas slowly and only as an addition and not as the main part of your practicing.

Practicing and learning, well, that is what it is all about. Push yourself, it is good. Performing? that is a different story. In the end all I ask is that you take care with compas. If you can't feel it, it may be something to work on later. But if you are getting bored or don't feel like you are advancing, go ahead and push your self, but only ONE falseta at a time.

So thats good. I will keep practicing these tougher pieces. As for performing...you're right that is a diff story. these pieces are, for the moment, just for me. so I can make as many errors as I want...[:D]

FOUND THAT EVEN PROS DONT PLAY THEM THE SAME WAY TWICE GYPSYS ALMOST NEVER THINK BEST THING WOULD PICK YOUR BEST TRICK FALSETTAS AND SLOWLY MASTER THE FEEL FOR THEM THEN DECIDE IF ITS REALLY FOR YOU SOUNDS OBVIOUS BUT WILL SAVE YOU LOADS OF TIME AND EFFORT
