Thats got me worried. I've been trying to sell a guitar on e-bay and all I've gotten so far is people e-mailing me during and after the close to make a low-ball offer, one guy is really ticking me off, he won't go away. I don't want to go crying to e-bay about it but I will soon. I don't know why they can't just bid on it, some of them are only $50.00 shy of the reserve. Now I'm afraid if I do sell it I might get ripped off. I think I will wait until I have transferred the money out of PayPal before shipping(if anybody bids during the actual auction, which is kind of the idea I thought). If it doesn't sell this time I won't list it there again. Jim, check your "selling preferences" in the "My Ebay" section. Automatically block bidders who are in countries you won't ship to (for me thats ASIA and AFRICA, where most of the scammers originate), and block bidders with negative feedback ratings and/or more than 3 Non-Paying Bidder strikes. This will solve HALF of the problem. The other half: Specifiy on the auction page that the auction is ONLY open to bidders with 95% POSITIVE feedback or more, and they MUST have at least 25 TOTAL feedbacks. Then if you notice anyone placing a bid who does not meet your requirements, simply CANCEL their bid (you are within your rights to do this). And lastly, NEVER make an off-ebay deal, no matter how tempting the offer is. Jb
