Nearly a year on and I have finished at least one part of the house. I fitted a false window into the patio wall today. Inspired by a small patio in the Alhambra, it's somewhere for me to chill, eat, drink and play the guitar.

The grapes are doing really well this year too.

Simon.. The way you descripe it, it sounds like the rest of your house looks like the picture to the left[:D]
I assure everyone that its not the case. The house is looking better every time I´m there and its close to the one to the right. That Patio is wonderfull. Lovely colors

I hope to start my own patio soon.[:)]

It's beautiful Simon.
The grapes give it a special touch. And nice furniture.

Very nice Simon. It looks beautiful. Hope to come round and see the rest of the house one of these days.

And Anders, where is your patio going to be, did you buy in Huelva or are you staying in Granada ?

Our village ruin remains the same, we have slight problem with a crane and a neighbour and an olive grove [:'(] next improvement to our Granada home will be a new mezzanine roof, may have to come and live with you Simon while the builders remove the top of the house !!!!! We were supposed to move into the ruin but it seems a long way off being ready for anything but keeping a few pigs. Now that would please the neighbours, actually it probably would, it'd be in keeping with the rest of the village !

How comes I have a feeling we are talking about Iznallóz???? That village is a bit scary....

We are buying in Beas in the Huelva province. I could upload some pictures. I´m just very nervous untill the final piece of paper has been signed.[:o]

ha ha no not Iznalloz, but a pretty village on the Jaen border called Hermita Nueva.

Good luck with your new house, the worst part is nearly over. It took us months to get paperwork sorted and signed. Totally nerve wracking. Dont bite your nails [;)]

It's a miracle when you have some time and money [;)]. With the help of some Photoshop filters and a wide angle lense, I can make it look like heaven jejeje. Just need a guitar on a chair and "Casa Flamenca" should rent like crazy. Kate, you are welcome to stay for 800 Euros a week [:D]

The roof has to come off mine as well so I can start the massive roof terrace but I think that will be some way out. Everything is a "project" now and it's 6000 Euros just to apply for the permissions!

Anders - "Patience" and "push" are my guides when buying and selling a house. Don't leave anything to anyone else - especially the lawyers. Good luck!

from rubble to a flamenco patio is always better than from a flamenco patio to rubble [:)]
