I have never heard of that, I was trained in an old German style. My Dad was against French polish, we would just use multiple coats of Lacquer sanding in between with course grits until it's flat then wet sand with 1000 and then 2000 and then buff it with maguiers #9 and it looks better than even a French polish. Of course this was only table tops and Guitars. I was trained in Old world finishing, Faux, Negative and Positive methods, Distressing dry brushing and wood repair like making a big whole in a table vanish with touch up. Also doing conference tables, with Acrylic Urethane. Tricks with smoke and sarrana wrap. Faux stones like marble and granite and well I could go on for hours. I't does pay well, except for my drinking and smoking habits I would probably have lots of money hahahaa. The pay by the hour can top out at like 25.00 an hour but doing touch ups and side work can bring in up to 60.00 an hour. I won't say what I make for the sake of Pride. There is a high demand for it in Utah especially with all the well to do Mormons and Catholic trophy moms that design there own houses. Thanks for being interested. [:D]
