Thank you nealf.

Do you think it is at the same level as Oscar herrero? He really explains and breaks down to the basics .
Has anyone tried other then bulerias?

El Craic -> RE: Manuel Salado (May 29 2007 11:30:07)

I got the Manuel Salado bulerias DVD recently and I'd recommend it. I personally prefer it to Oscar Herrero's stuff because although Oscar Herrero plays very nicely, IMHO the Manuel Salado stuff sounds more useful. I think it would benefit from compas transcriptions (not just the falsetas) and it would benefit from the transcriptions on paper in a separate booklet. I'm not always in front of a pc. The compas stuff is simple, fun and very positive and there are close ups so you copy it alright as long as it is half familiar to begin with. The falsetas are nice, not excessively complicated but challenging enough unless you are a yoga guru on the fingerboard. I'm not really practising too hard at the moment but I learned a lot from it and am looking forward to spending more time on it.

I bought the first five volumes :

solea, solea por bulerias, alegrias, bulerias and fandangos

the easiest is the solea por bulerias

the alegrias and solea volumes contain very hard stuff.

The bad thing is the tablature which contains some errors here and there and it is
written on the video. Another point is that the two hands are displayed separately,
and for me its very hard to follow the right hand.

I think its high level material, higher than oscar herrero's one.
There are a lot of interesting falsetas and the section for the cante accompaignement is very helpful, you can learn a lot.
