Come on man, who cares ?
As long as it sounds and / or plays good.

I am not a design fetishist.
Playability + Sound are imporant for me (and of course price [:(] ). Thats it.

Of course i dont want to have a green flamenco guitar lol
And it would be good to have a very nice guitar but things like Rosette are not important for me.

Could you live and perform with a Pink Stratocaster with mother of pearl inlays on the fingerboard saying: Sexy?

I could[:D]

A nice rosette can really be the icing on the cake for a good guitar. But obviously it DOESN'T affect the tone and playability in any way. Better to have a guitar that sounds and plays great with a crappy rosette, then to have a guitar that sounds and plays crappy with a great rosette.

Now there's a nice business sideline for you Anders.
Self-adhesive rosettes in various patterns for those who like to give their guitars a makeover from time to time.
Simply peel off the old one and stick the new one on. [:D][:D]

cheers,

Ron

Yeah, and maybe some Sexy stickers to put on the fingerboard[8|]

Now, there are some good ideas. So, how about a long, pink foroflamenco sticker with fret dots as fake abalone inlays for the fingerboard? [:'(]

p.d. Just read the complete thread and see Anders and I think alike [;)]

On my guitar, the soundboard turned into the soundhole a bit. The luthier to whom i took it said really and honestly, that it is the ROSETTE, which causes this!!
Its not a 100% symmetrical Rosette, and it looks a bit done poorly. It may be that the pressure is a bit more irregularly spread. But can this cause the soundboard to go into the soundhole?? Compared to the effect of the difference between low and very high tension strings, i think that is totally negligible.

It sounds to me like you should really consider finding a different luthier. The rosette is decorative and should not have any structural influence, I'm kind of curious about his reasoning for this statement
